    Situated near to the beach in East Looe, this beautiful little gallery is run by local artists and craft workers and is well worth a visit. There is good level access and some of the volunteers here are trained in supporting those with dementia. The gallery also runs art classes, craft workshops and children’s activities throughout the year. All free of charge and suitable for all abilities.

    Detailed description

    Situated near to the beach in East Looe, this beautiful little gallery is run by local artists and craft workers and is well worth a visit. There is good level access and some of the volunteers here are trained in supporting those with dementia.

    This gallery is run by a local community of artists led by local artist Sarah Marks and other artists and craft workers who volunteer to support the gallery. There are some beautiful paintings and craft works in the gallery along with some thoughtfully curated gifts.

    The gallery also runs art classes, craft workshops and children’s activities throughout the year. All free of charge and suitable for all abilities. They offer quiet sessions to anyone with sensory needs and one to one instruction, though both are free of charges they do need to be booked in advance.

    The gallery is awaiting allocation of a beach access wheelchair  for summer 2023.

    The gallery is also a friendly calm safe space for anyone experiencing anxiety or concern

    Parking

    The nearest accessible parking for visitors is at the main council car parks at Buller Quay car park, Riverside car park and Millpool car park approximately 10 minutes away. There is level and ramped access from these car parks. There is limited access to drop people off in the centre of East Looe here during the summer months.

    Toilet facilities

    There is an accessible toilet about 100 metres away from the Old Lifeboat Station Gallery near to the slipway to the beach. There is level and ramped access to this toilet which is open 365 days of the year and accessible via RADAR key. The toilet is open each day from 9am and are closed at (or shortly before!) 8pm.

    Accessibiliy Guide

    There is good wheelchair access into and through the shop. Some volunteers have also been trained in dementia awareness and are friendly and helpful regarding any accessibility enquiries.
