Trelissick House, Feock

Trelissick House was erected in 1755 and in 1824 received a makeover with a grand facade that was specifically made to represent wealth and importance. Housing several families over its time, the interior changed with the families and fashions. It is said the interior remains pleasantly understated lending itself to a much more relaxed feeling than its grander exterior. With all of this history, it's not surprising that Trelissick House is a great place to visit.

There are some nice displays within the house including some of the Copeland Spode China family collection. The rest was sold in an auction when the family finally vacated the house in 2012.

Access is possible. Starting with the parking, there are disabled spaces in the car park, near the shop. Most of the ground is level and smooth, apart from some gravel when approaching the house. There are some steps to entering the house but there is also disabled access at the side of the house, upon request. There is plenty of friendly and helpful staff on hand when you need them. Disabled visitors get a 50% discount on entry and a carer goes free, making this an affordable day out. The house has fixed induction loops at all of the tills. you will need to speak to one of the staff about any useful provisions they can offer on your visit. You can access most of Trelissick House in a wheelchair with adequate space to move around. There is plenty of seating for people to use and stop for a minute to soak up the history and admire the interior, including comfy sofas and armchairs in the house. The piano room benefits from being a little quieter than the rest of the house, for when you need to take some time out. There is a small cafe in the house that serve cakes, treats, and refreshments, with plenty of seating. The accessible bathrooms are by the main cafe. Service animals are permitted.

Visit the shop with level access, for a browse around. It also has a second-hand book shop for good measure. There is an accessible garden walk. You can get a route map from the visitor reception. We recommend trying to go during the week if you like or need it to be a little quieter as peak times and seasonal events can busy. There was nothing we couldn't get to and if you are lucky enough to go at Christmas, the decorations are beautiful!
