The Shipwreck Treasure Museum has good accessibility for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. However, the historic tunnels beneath the building are not suitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters and are therefore not accessible.
The tunnels can easily be avoided and their end point into the Shackleton’s Legacy exhibition is where wheelchair and mobility scooter using visitors are able to begin their visit.
There are two wheelchairs on site available to use free of charge, on a first come–first served basis. We also have a wheelchair friendly toilet on the ground floor with baby changing facilities. Further baby changing facilities are available on the upper level.
