Mobility / Wheelchair Support

There is a gentle slope, and there are a few trip hazards in the polytunnels such as matting and plant pots.

Some areas are stony and narrow. Overall though it is fairly level and easy to access but you need to take care as you walk around. Some pathways may be narrow for wheelchairs to get around and it may be difficult to get around on a mobility scooter.

There are some seats dotted around the garden centre for people with mobility issues

There are some trip hazards in the polytunnels but they are fairly level with wide walkways in many places.

Some signs are in larger print, there is no braille or audio guides. However, the staff are very helpful if you want to find particular plants or get more information about plants and they will tell you where plants are and offer advice about them.

Hearing Impairment Support

There are no audio guides or hearing loop, but the nursery is quiet in places and the staff are very helpful and happy to explain where plants are and give information about the nursery and plants.

There is some traffic noise towards the polytunnel areas at the bottom of the nursery as this area is near the A30.

Autism support

There are plenty of "quiet spaces"

Also staff were on hand and helpful so they can easily explain the garden centre and give information about the plants in the nursery.

Learning Support

Some of the descriptions of plants were quite complicated.

However, the staff at the nursery are happy to explain about the plants for anyone who might have difficulty reading or understanding the written signs.
