    The SEA LIFE TRUST Cornish Seal Sanctuary in Gweek, is a charity that rescues and rehabilitates grey seal pups from around the Cornish coastline.

    Each season, the Sanctuary in Gweek rehabilitates over 70 seal pups that have been rescued for various reasons, from malnourishment to being separated from their mum.

    The Sanctuary also provides a permanent home to animals that need special care from our team of marine animal experts.

    When visiting the Sanctuary, you can experience wonderful marine animals up close and personal and learn all about their individual stories.

    The SEA LIFE TRUST Cornish Seal Sanctuary in Gweek, is a charity that rescues and rehabilitates grey seal pups from around the Cornish coastline.

    Each season, the Sanctuary in Gweek rehabilitates over 70 seal pups that have been rescued for various reasons, from malnourishment to being separated from their mum.

    The Sanctuary also provides a permanent home to animals that need special care from our team of marine animal experts.

    When visiting the Sanctuary, you can experience wonderful marine animals up close and personal and learn all about their individual stories.

    Convalescence Pool
    Visit our main Convalesence Pool and meet our resident Grey Seals. Each of our resident Grey Seals carry their own unique story for living here at the Sanctuary, make sure you attend the Seal talk to find out them all. During Pup Season, our rescued grey seal pups will also live in this Pool as part of their final stage of rehabilitation, where they learn how to fight for their fish and how to interact with Adult Grey Seals to help them when they are released back into the wild!

    UNDERWATER VIEWING AREAS
    Get up close to our fantastic creatures with our underwater viewing areas! We have three incredible underwater viewing areas located in our Southern Sea Lion Pool, our Seal Rescue Centre and at Penguin Beach.

    Parking

    Accessible Parking

    Our main accessible parking area is immediately in front of our main reception.

    We can permit up to 6 cars - to drive on site for accessible parking near our seal pools and hospital. Speak to our front reception team on arrival who will issue you with a parking pass.

    Please note: While our safari bus is running during peak times, the number of accessible parking spaces down at our seal pools is reduced, as extra space is required on site to allow our bus to turn around.

    If during your visit parking down near our seals pools is full, we can allow visitors to drive on site to drop-off and pick-up, please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information.

    Toilet facilities

    Our accessible toilets and baby changing facilities are located in our front reception, and on the left hand side of our Seal Hospital. Our baby changing facilities include changing units with a weight limit of 50lbs. Unfortunately there are no toilet facilities once down the hill by our seals pools due to the estuary location.

    Mobility / Wheelchair Support

    Visitors using mobility scooters or electric wheelchairs

    The hills leading down to our pools may exceed 16° which may not be suitable for some mobility scooters and electric wheel chairs. Please check your instruction manuals before visiting.

    For visitors unable to use their mobility scooters or electric wheelchairs on steep slopes, we do have limited accessible parking available near our hospital and seal pools.

    Autism support

    Visitors can watch videos showing the sanctuary to familiarise themselves with the Sanctuary.     Learning Support

    There are clearly written signs, visual guides and a trail around the Sanctuary which are provided to support visitors learning about seals and the work we do.
