The entrance is level and smooth. There is one step onto the bridge over the duckpond in the waterfowl area and the ground was uneven in this area. There are some large gravel stones in the car park, but paths in the attraction were clear. Grass is kept short. There is plenty of seating, although many are picnic benches require to swing your legs over. There is room for wheelchairs to get into the cafe and room at the tables and the picnic tables. A wheelchair could not use the nature trail, lake and moorland walk. The fences were at a good height for wheelchair users with gaps a good distance so that viewing was not affected.

There is currently no hearing loop available. There is lots of clear signage for everything. The birds can be noisy so it is worth bearing this in mind. There are quieter areas outside to get away from the crowd and the noise of the aviaries. There was no obvious BSL use but all of the signs had lots of information on for you to read. the handler talks clearly, however sometimes he would turn away to return a bird to its cage but would still be talking, making his speech muffled and preventing lip reading so it can be helpful to visit with a companion if you are hearing impaired.

Some of the signs may be difficult to read if you have learning differences such as dyslexia, but the talks that are given throughout the day are part of the overall experience and ticket price and you can learn a lot about all the birds during these sessions. The staff on site are also very helpful and knowledgeable.
