From Penlee Park there is step-free access, via a ramp, that takes you to the main
entrance of the Gallery. There is level access from the main entrance to:
The Café and the outdoor seating on the Terrace
The Gallery shop
The admissions desk
All the downstairs galleries
Unisex Accessible Toilet
Lift to the upper galleries
Glass doors have visual markings.
‘PenFriend’ audio guides of selected paintings are available to borrow from
the admissions desk.
Handrails have raised bumps ‘bumpons’ to indicate where they start and
finish. Please note that there are no stair nosings.
Exhibition text is available for free in large print (16 point) from the
admissions desk.
Some galleries have low lighting; LED torches are available to borrow from
the admissions desk.
There is an induction loop in the café, linked to the PA system, for evening
lectures.
There is a Sensory Garden near the main entrance. Its centre piece is a
beautiful copper fountain made by the Copperworks in Newlyn. The beds
have scented plants.
