Mobility / Wheelchair Support

There is flat access through the main Jamaica Inn entrance. The hotel entrance does have some cobbled ground to get over. If you want to access the different areas of the building, you may need to ask for assistance due to the single steps within the older structure of the Inn. The staff is able to lay ramps for you to access each area of the building. It is advisable to contact Jamaica Inn ahead of your visit to arrange assistance and make your visit all the more pleasurable. To access the Museum, you need to use an entrance which is only accessed by cobbles and there is a 2-inch step into the building. Getting through the bar area can sometimes require a little more attention when it is busy. Some of the entrances have a small lip on the threshold so may require a little extra push to get over in a wheelchair.

Vision Impairment Support

The food menus can be downloaded before your visit. Staff are always happy to help assist with the menu where ever help is needed.

There are signs around the Inn that will point you in the right direction. Most are on the walls and styled in keeping with the age of the Inn so may require a little further time to look at. Emergency exits are clearly marked.

Hearing Impairment Support

There don't appear to be any hearing loops or support. During busier times the eating halls and bar can get a bit noisy. There are one or two areas that do remain a little quieter and more relaxed. There is soft background music played in the eating and drinking areas but it is not loud and can add a relaxed ambience. For more information on quieter times please seek further information from Jamaica Inn
