    Woods Cafe - Cardinham Woods

    Description

    Woods Café is a family run, independent café in the middle of the beautiful Cardinham Woods, Bodmin, Cornwall, and are passionate about serving home-made food using fresh and local ingredients. The menu has something for everyone and every order is freshly prepared.  The cakes and scones are baked every morning and work well with a pot of Cornish Tregothnan tea or locally roasted Yallah coffee.  We are family and dog friendly with loads of outside seating in the summer and a lovely roaring log fire in the winter.

    Detailed description

    A variety of waymarked walking and mountain bike trails take you deep into 265 hectares of mixed conifer and native broadleaf trees to discover stunning viewpoints and an intriguing history.

    There are activities to suit every interest and ability from a gentle stroll to Lady Vale Bridge to a daring adventure on the Bodmin beast mountain bike trail or a fun session with the children at Badger Forest School.

    When you’re ready to refuel, the award-winning Woods Café awaits with delicious, homemade meals, light bites and cakes, served in beautiful surroundings.

    Parking

    We have a car park. There are accessible parking spaces. The parking is less than 50 metres from the main entrance. Parking is not free.

    Toilet facilities

    There is a public toilet for disabled visitors.

    From the main entrance to the public toilet, there is level access. There is a permanent ramp.
    The route is 1800mm wide, or more.
    The toilet door is 1000mm wide.
    The direction of transfer onto the toilet is to the right.
    There is 1000mm at the side of the toilet. There is 1500mm in front of the toilet. The toilets have handrails.

    There is level access from the main entrance to the Toilet block
    There is level access from the car park to the BBQ Area.

    The route from the car park  is 1700mm wide, or more.

    The path is sloped.

    Woods Cafe: From the main entrance to this area, there is 1 step. There is no lift and no ramp.

    Some display information is low, for wheelchair users. There are seats.

    Woodland trails:

    Ladyvale trail is 2400metres long. The trail has a hard surface. The trail is sloped. The trail has seats.
    There is an optional shorter trail loop which totals 1200m

    BBQ area: From the car park to the picnic area, there is level access. There is a permanent ramp. The path is 1500mm wide, or more.
    The entrance is 1500mm wide.
    Some tables have space for wheelchair users. You can bring your own food to the picnic area.
    There are eight static metal BBQs available in the picnic area for public use free of charge.

    Play Area
    From the main entrance to the area, there is 1 step.

    Vision Impairment Support

    Assistance dogs are welcome.

    Some staff have disability awareness training. For a quieter forest experience, we recommend planning your visit for early morning (before 10.00am) or in the evening (after 4.00pm). The forest is usually less busy on week days.
