    The New Inn, Manaccan is a beautiful 16th century inn, ticked away in the peaceful village of Manaccan close to the Helford River on the Lizard peninsula. Much loved by the community, this pub was saved by loca residents and run successfully for several years before new owners recently took over. Today the pub is growing a reputation for excellent food (Sunday lunches receive rave reviews) and a warm welcome. Recent improvements have also meant this traditional Cornish pub is also extremely accessible, with accessible facilities and good level access to the main bar and dinign areas and the peaceful beer garden to the rear of the pub. Well worth a visit!

    The New Inn, Manaccan is a beautiful 16th century inn, ticked away in the peaceful village of Manaccan close to the Helford River on the Lizard peninsula. Today the pub is growing a reputation for excellent food (Sunday lunches receive rave reviews) and a warm welcome. Recent improvements have also meant this traditional Cornish pub is also extremely accessible, with accessible facilities and good level access to the main bar and dinign areas and the peaceful beer garden to the rear of the pub. Well worth a visit!

    The pub itself is about 15 minutes drive from Helston in the peaceful and beautiful village of Manaccan, an ideal location for lunch after a walk around the nearby creeks and woodland surrounding the Helford River. Helford itself is just a short walk away.

    Unlike many traditional inns of its type, the pub has retained its charm and character whilst improving accessibility. The car park just behind the pub offers flat level access and both the front and rear entrances of the pub are accessible via wheelchair (the front entry is smoother). There is also plenty of spcae for those with wheelchairs or mobility aides and a good array of seating options both in the main bar, Garden Room and outdoor area. The accessible toilet meets accessible design guidance standards and is appropriate for most wheelchairs.

    Of course it's not just the venue but the staff who make a visit enjoyable and the team here are kind and accommodating and the food reviews are extremely good. If you have never explored this part of the world before, or if you live locally and haven't visited for a while, The New Inn is well worth a visit.

    Parking

    There is a car park behind the pub with approximately 30 spaces and good level access to the pub. There is loose gravel on the car park and the front entrance to the pub is the most accessible entrance, so you may wish to drop off anyone who uses a wheelchair or mobility aid at the front of the pub as you go in.

    Mobility / Wheelchair Support

    There is good level access from the car park to the pub, but be aware that the car park has a loose gravel surface. There is a good drop off point at the front of the pub where there is an entrance with level access to the main bar and dining areas.

    There are a good number of seats in the main bar and garden room which are of suitable height and offer good leg room for wheelchair users. There is level access to the Garden Room and the outdoor area behind this. At the time of our visit new seating was being brought in which offered a range of options for those with mobility challenges who wish to sit outside.

    There is a portable pay point and table service for food.

    There is a good sized accessible toilet which meets standard accessible design guidance.

    Staff are friendly and happy to support customers with mobility needs where possible.

    Do be aware there is a 22cm step from the main bar area to the lower bar area to the left of the main bar. This is not accessible for wheelchair users and those with ambulatory ability but some mobility challenges need to be careful of the step.

    Vision Impairment Support

    There is good level access from the car park to the pub via the rear and front entrances. Walkways are wide and free of obstacles for the most part. Staff are happy to read out menu options. Dogs are welcome at the pub.
