Make yourself at home in one of our well-appointed bedrooms or self serviced apartments, before discovering the independent boutiques and galleries of Cornwall’s city – not forgetting the award-winning farmer’s market which takes place a few yards from the hotel every Wednesday & Saturday.
You’ll find great Cornish food and drink around every corner in Truro, inspirational shows at the Hall for Cornwall, parks, gardens and river walks to enjoy if you fancy venturing a little further.

Access Statement / Disability Information
Hotel Entrance :
The main hotel entrance is located at the front of the building at the bottom of Lemon Street and to the right of Mannings Bar & Restaurant. Vehicles can stop here to drop off and pick up passengers with baggage but, will need to go around the one way system again in order to use the car park located just to the left of the hotel. There are 2 steps up into the main entrance of the hotel and the lobby area. For guests in wheelchairs we can provide a mobile roll out disability ramp which can be placed at the main hotel entrance. Our staff are always here to help with this and on the right hand side wall of the main entrance to the hotel we do have a “call button” for you to use to let us know that you need assistance. If you need assistance with luggage or help with checking into the hotel please call us ahead on 01872 270345 and will be waiting for your arrival.
Car Park Entrance :
The car park is to the left of the main hotel entrance and is also located just to the left of 4 red telephone boxes. The distance from the car park entrance to the main hotel entrance is 75 yards. The gates to the car park are visible from Lemon Street but they are slightly set back from the main street itself. The car park is well lit and monitored with CCTV.
Wheel Chair Toilet Facilities :
There are toilet facilities on the ground floor in our restaurant and 1 of them has been fully adapted for wheelchair users. It has an emergency cord to summon emergency assistance if required.
Bedrooms :
We are a Grade II listed building and we do not have a lift, but we are always happy to carry your luggage to and from your room but this understandably may make access difficult for people with limited mobility.
We have 34 bedrooms over 3 floors and 9 apartments located to the rear of the hotel within the car park area itself. Access from the ground floor to the first floor is via 20 stairs, from the first floor to the second floor it is 20 stairs and from the second floor to the third floor it is 16 stairs. This does mean that realistically none of our hotel rooms would be suitable for wheelchair guests due to this but, we do have 1 ground floor apartment available which is wheelchair adapted along with a walk in shower room which has been fitted with a disability bathroom. This apartment has a double bed along with a fitted wheelchair adapted kitchen. Our other ground floor apartment would be ideal for someone with limited mobility and can be used as a double or a twin bedded apartment. Our resident lounge area is located on a mezzanine landing area just off the ground floor and can be accessed by using the staircase – 24 stairs in total.
Mannings Bar & Restaurant :
The restaurant is situated on the ground level of the hotel and can be accessed from inside the hotel lobby. There are 3 stairs leading down from the main restaurant into the bar area. If you have any special dietary requirements please make us aware of this whilst making your reservation for either your hotel or dinner reservation in advance.
Fire Evacuation Point :
We do test our alarm system on a weekly basis and this is posted with the day and time in our lobby area. Our Fire Evacuation Meeting Point is in front of our car park gates.
