Here at Access Cornwall CIC, we are proud to announce that we are now working in partnership with Truro BID (a not-for-profit organisation delivering projects, events and services for the benefit of Truro and its businesses) and Truro City Council in an effort to make Truro more accessible and welcoming for all.
The project is running from now until December and is funded by The Town Regeneration and Investment Programme (TRIP) and match funding from Truro City Council. We’re really thrilled to be involved in the project which has been inspired by and is supported by Councillor Steven Webb.
The project will involve
To achieve our plan, we very much need to hear from anyone who lives in Truro or visits the town often who lives with a disabilty or who is a carer, or who has any kind of access challenge, so we can get your thoughts on what the key challenges are, which places are accessible and what advice you would give to others.
Please email us at hello@accesscornwall.org.uk with comments and if you would like to be more involved.
Additionally, we are going to provide free accessibility training for up to 160 local businesses so we can provide staff with the means and confidence to support all customers. Any Truro-based business can take part in this as we have online training that will take place on
Online: Tuesday 21 October and Thursday 20 November at 12 noon until 2pm.
Face to face training: Tuesday 25 November from 10am until 12 noon and Thursday 27 November from 2pm to 4pm in the large training room at Truro Library.
