    Mother Ivey’s Bay Holiday Park is situated on 35 acres of Cornwall’s most exceptional north coastline. They are both Cornish Tourism Award Winners and holders of the prestigious Gold Bellamy Award.

    There are static caravans, of which 2 are wheelchair accessible with varying levels of facilities, and caravans, motorhomes and tents are welcomed. Dogs are allowed on site, and there is access to the beach from the park. There is a shop, but deliberately no entertainment facilities or restaurant, to preserve a peaceful environment. Children are invited to explore the extensive adventure playground.

    Detailed description

    Mother Ivey’s Bay Holiday Park is situated on 35 acres of Cornwall’s most exceptional north coastline.

    Mother Ivey’s Bay provides the perfect setting for your family holiday. There are a variety of fields with differing outlooks and access. The park benefits from the stunning backdrop of headland views of Trevose Head and the Padstow Lifeboat Station to the north west and views reaching across to Booby’s Bay and Constantine Bay to the west.

    Visitors enjoy the calm atmosphere of the holiday park, which has no bars, no clubs, discos or restaurants to break the calm. The stunning environment provides all the entertainment you need.

    Families and couples love the security and easy access to our private beach. And with silence across the park from 11:00pm to 7:00am, everybody can get a good night’s sleep, lulled by the hypnotic sound of the Atlantic waves breaking on the beach below.

    They are proud to be both Cornish Tourism Award Winners and holders of the prestigious Gold Bellamy Award.

    Mother Ivey's Bay won a Bronze award in the Accessibility category of the Cornwall Tourism Awards in 2017.

    The beach is accessed by a private road, which has speedhumps, and is quite steep in places. (See picture). Please be aware of this if you have mobility or energy issues.

    Accommodation

    There are two specially designed static caravans which allow wheelchair access, with wider doorways, ramp access, and a wetroom. They are not suitable for people who need a hoist, and some of the kitchen equipment /storage is high level.

    The park's facilities are wheelchair accessible, including Reception, sop, laundry room, and toilet blocks.

     

    Dog Friendly

    The park is happy to welcome well behaved family dogs (up to two per family). Many of the local beaches are open to dogs and the south west coastal path is perfect for longer walks against the most beautiful backdrop you could wish for.

    For the enjoyment of all guests, and the safety of your pet, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times whilst on the park. They are welcome on our private beach all year round but must be on a lead between 10:00am and 6:00pm.  And of course, to maintain the beauty and safety of our Park, please be vigilant at clearing up after your dog.

    Parking

    All hire caravans have parking adjoining and, if requested when booking, staff will endeavour to keep you as near to the facilities as possible.

    All parking bays are extra wide. One is marked for disabled people, located close to Reception.

    Toilet facilities

    The ‘Palace’ toilet block includes a suite suitable for wheelchair users (toilet, wet room/shower and sink).

    There are 2 caravans which have a layout that may suit elderly or some disabled customers – these are
    gold and diamond standard. Features include wider doorsets, ramp access, wet room style shower, accessible WC,
    wide galley style kitchen and dropped worktop space.

    One of the accessible caravans is equipped with a portable transfer frame.

    Mobility / Wheelchair Support

    The reception area has a level floor and an extra wide access door to accommodate wheelchair users.

    All buildings are single-storey with no stairs or lifts.

    The entrance to the shop is wheelchair friendly and full assistance can be provided by staff where items are above head height.
    The Laundry has a single width door with ramp access and parking nearby. All machines are front loading and operated.

    There are 2 caravans which have a layout that may suit elderly or some disabled customers – these are
    gold and diamond standard. Features include wider doorsets, ramp access, wet room style shower, accessible WC,
    wide galley style kitchen and dropped worktop space.

    One of the accessible caravans is equipped with a portable transfer frame.

    All hire caravans have showers and not baths, but many vans offer en-suite accommodation.

     

    Touring Pitches and Facilities

    • Parking is permitted on each touring/camping pitch.
    • Staff are more than happy to advise on the location of pitches and suitability for your requirements on enquiry and during booking.
    • They offer facilities to re-charge electric devices, including wheelchairs and can receive pre-deliveries of medical equipment including oxygen in small amounts.
    • All main toilets and shower blocks have wide entrance doors and are level throughout. The toilet and shower facilities provided are spacious, well lit and open 24 hours a day.
    • The “Palace” toilet block has fully accessible WC and shower cubicle

    The site is on a gentle slope and all of our facilities within the main public areas have flat access and wide doors, except the Launderette, which has a narrow entrance.

    They have one wheelchair, available from Reception, for hire in the Park. Please contact beforehand if you need to hire a wheelchair. Other wheelchair and electronic scooters can be hired, but this needs to be arranged well before your arrival.

    Vision Impairment Support

    Guide dogs, hearing dogs and assistance dogs are accepted in all areas*, however if booking in one of the Hire Fleet please inform staff at point of booking.

    * One part of the campsite, 'The Square', is dog free (for people with allergies/fears/personal preference)

    Hearing Impairment Support

    As well as telephone, email and postal correspondence, staff are also more than happy to accept calls through the TextDirect and Typetalk services.  They also have an induction loop in Reception.

    In the static caravans, subtitles are available on most TVs.
