    Detailed description

    Situated in the hamlet of Penhallow in Cornwall - on the coastal road between Newquay and Truro - these self-catering cottages make the perfect central base for exploring all of Cornwall.

    Each cottage is different in its character and facilities.

    The Coach House, sleeps 4, and is M3i graded on the National Accessible Scheme for Visit England – it is suitable for full time, independent wheelchair users. With hot tub

    The Stables, sleeps 2, and is a level bungalow complete with large wetroom, it is suitable for wheelchair users and guests with limited mobility. (Expected grading M2). With hot tub.

    The Forge sleeps 4, and is a level bungalow suitable for guests who are able to get around the cottage unaided, but who require a wheelchair when out and about.

    The Hide sleeps 2, and is a level bungalow suitable for guests who are able to get around the cottage unaided, but who require a wheelchair when out and about. With hot tub.

    Wishing Well Cottage sleeps 4, and is on two storeys, with 13 steps.

    Parking

    Each cottage has its own parking, and level access to the door for The Coach House.

    Toilet facilities

    The Coach House and The Stables have full wetrooms, with extensive hand rails and turning space. The others have well fitted bathrooms.

    Mobility / Wheelchair Support

    The Coach House is fully accessible for an independent wheelchair user, with adjustable height sink and cooker, low level storage and microwave, and a remote control extractor fan. The full size wetroom accommodates a hoist, which can be hired from Tremorvah Industries. There are many other features that make it perfect for anyone in a wheelchair, or with limited mobility.

    There is a small lip on entry to The Stable, which is well equipped for wheelchair users. There is a full size wetroom, and other features to make life easy for guests in wheelchairs.

    The Forge and The Hide have stepped access, and are suitable for people who do not need a wheelchair to move around indoors.

    The Wishing Well is across two storeys.

    The owners can charge a mobility scooter or battery powered wheelchair in our barn on request.

    Vision Impairment Support

    Large print accessibility information is provided for each cottage, and other information on request.

    Dogs are welcomed in all the properties, and have fully enclosed lawns or patios for exercising.

    Website is text to speech enabled.

    The skirting and doorway surrounds are a contrasting colour to the walls.

    The light switches and sockets are a contrasting colour to the walls.

    Hearing Impairment Support

    The TVs in all the properties have subtitles.

    Dogs are welcomed in all the properties, and have fully enclosed lawns or patios for exercising.

    Autism support

    Lots of images are available on the website to help individuals who are autistic to familiarise themselves with the accommodation before visiting.

    Learning Support

    Website is text to speech enabled. There are also lots of pictures on the website to support written descriptions of the cottages.
