Gwel an Mor

A glorious location, with sea views, a pool, luxurious lodges, farm and wild animals on hand – a very appealing for a holiday for anyone.  But some of the lodges at Gwel an Mor have been designed with disabled access in mind, and the entire site is built to accommodate wheelchair users, so this could be a very special holiday if you have particular access requirements.

In the last few years, the complex has created two lodges with special adaptations, but the demand has been so high that the owners are planning more.  These lodges have been built to the National Accessibility Scheme’s M3 standard (mobility level 3 assisted), and approved by Visit Britain’s Accessibility Officer.  They are designed for family holidays and can accommodate a range of mobility issues.

The Tregea Assisted Lodges sleep 6, across 2 floors, and the Residence Assisted Living Lodges sleep 5, on a single floor. Both have level access, a ground floor twin room with an electric tilt bed, and a ground-floor wet room. The Residence lodges also have a hoist. The kitchen and living areas are wheelchair accessible.

Elsewhere on the site, there is a heated indoor pool, accessible by hoist, the restaurant is all on a level, and generously spaced out to allow for wheelchairs, and the entire site can be accessed without steps. There is a disabled toilet in the central WC block, and the gym is also wheelchair accessible, with some apparatus able to be used. The entire staff of the site will go out of their way to accommodate disabilities or other special requirements, including unloading vehicles, operating the pool hoist, etc, and wheelchairs, mobility scooters and shower chairs can be borrowed from Reception.

Feadon Farm, part of the site, has a wonderful range of farm animals and wildlife, including badgers, birds of prey, and the opportunity to go rock-pooling, and feed the animals.  Worth a visit, whatever your age!
