Penrose Walks and the Stables Cafe

Jake and Sarah, our Access Cornwall reviewers paid a visit to Penrose Walks and Stables Cafe and here is they had to say about their enjoyable visit...

"We went to a place in Helston called Penrose stables and cafe it was a long walk though. A nature trail and though out parts of the trail there are benches like this one and there is a footpath. It may be difficult to walk on if someone has a walker because of debris that has fallen of the trees but a wheelchair would be not be affected by the debris on the footpath. There are little Bridges that cross streams and rivers the Bridges are mostly wooden and small wheels may get stuck in between the blanks. And after you have walk 2 and a half miles you will reach a little outdoor cafe that is lacking options for sandwiches but the tea and hot drinks were OK. And next to the cafe is Penrose gardens which is lovely to have a look around. There were information signs about the history of the places. And the toilets were easily accessible and had a ramp to get inside so no worry for people with wheelchair or walkers. But however if you park were we did you will walk 2 and a half miles to get to the cafe and then the same distance back so in in reality you will be walking 5 miles which is a lot for some who have disabilities inability to walk long distance. Personally I would bring a picnic and a blanket and find some to site and eat it maybe be easier for some people."
